Barely 48 hours some palace chiefs in benin city, announced the endorsement of the people democratic party candidates, pastor osagie Ize-Iyamu, another set has denied the support.

The chiefs, under the name of Nedoghama Nedo, belonging to the Egha Evbo Nore in the palace had adopted the PDPs candidates.

It was learnt that the decision to adopt Ize Iyamu was taken at the wwekend at the residence of the Esama of benin, Gabriel Igbinedion.

The chiefs, said to be mainly businessmen and professionals, urges the voters to support the PDPs candidate.
But, another set of palace chiefs denied the endorsement. They accused the other chiefs of being card- carrying members of the PDP.

They warned those involved not to drag the palace into the murky waters of politics adding that the purported endorsement was laughable.

The Obazelu of Benin Kingdom, Osaro Idah said that if the palace must speak on any issue, it is either done through the Iyase of benin kingdom or the Esogban, who is the head of benin forum.

The palace never calls for support for any candidate. We always pray for the best to emerge.
